Tim V
By coincidence, 40 years separates these pictures, taken at Pendre. On a Winter working party 26/10/1973, I think I'm standing on a plank. And this year 29/10/2013, from Pendre block post. I think this was the last Up train of the 1973 season. The last train of the 1973 season approaches Pendre. That's the later Tom Rolt's boiler on the right.

Devonbelle
Superb. Scarily I went in 1973, just before my sixth birthday, and we stopped off at Pendre for my father to do some photting. Edward Thomas was working and hauled us. I also recollect being fascinated by Cambrai, the metre gauge 0-6-0 at Towyn, and remember the class 25s which hauled us to Mach - then a DMU in all over blue to Towyn. Thanks for sharing photos and sparking memories. Paul
