Amelia Grove
G'Day all I purchased a Skaledale SR Art Deco signal box yesterday. I want to fit an interior to it and have a question. My layout is not signalled yet and I wanted to know if these boxes were used at locations with power operated signals and points or if some examples were fitted with a traditional lever frame? My layout is a fictional London Suburban setting. Regards
bécasse
The choice is yours. There could be a frame with traditional levers either with all the signals and points worked by wire or rod or with some or all of the signals and points worked by power (in which case the signals could be colour light or motor-worked semaphore). Alternatively there could be a power frame, almost certainly with miniature levers, with all the signals and points worked by power; in this case colour light signals are most likely but the use of motor-worked semaphores couldn't be ruled out. Ground signals would most probably be discs even if the running signals were colour light.
