kirtleypete
This book has just been published; it is 122 pages all in colour, and is available from Amazon at £12.95. It covers the railway from Syston to Peterborough, a Midland route built by George Hudson in the 1840's and still open today. There are track plans, building drawing, lot's of pictures of course, and a brief history of each location. Don't look here for details of acts of parliament and so on, this is a modeller's book with good solid information that can be used as the basis for building a layout. I've been collecting information for thirty years so it was about time I made it more widely available. I will of course continue to update www.systonandpeterborough.co.uk and www.meltonmowbrayrailways.info as and when new information comes to light.
