Alex DCC layouts
I want to remove the body on my Bachmann 56xx so i can change the body and detail it but one of the screws attaching the body to the chassis is gnarled which means i cant unscrew the screw. If anyone has any tips on removing the gnarled screw from the chassis i would be grateful as i am worried about damaging it.
Jim Bob
Hi Alex, I have no experience of this particular model but, my first query would be: Do you mean "gnarled" as in, possibly damaged? Or, do you mean "knurled", as in no screw slots (straight or philips/pozidrive)? With ribs around the screw head? Depending on where the access is (from within the body, or from the chassis up into the body), you may be able to use a small socket set, or narrow bladed pliers, to loosen it off, until you can get a finger-purchase on it. If somebody put it in, you can get it out! JimBob
