Western Star
I am using a Shedmaster (now Laurie Griffin) set of castings for a Drummond small HR engine - and although there is a sketch with the castings I ratehr feel that a peek at the real thing might be a good thing. So, has anyone got a photo of the boiler front for any of the Drummond desings for the Highland Railway (or early LSWR as being somewhat contemporary). Thank you, Graham Beare
Portchullin Tatty
Late in replying I know, but you will find a cab view (of the boiler rear but I think this is what you mean) of 103 in my father's book - Highland Locomotives (p72). Whilst I should no doubt encourage you to get the book to boost my inheritance (it is long since sold out, so this will not actually happen!), here are some piccies I took of 103 a year back. I appreciate that 103 is a Jones loco, but as Drummond is the immediate successor to him, I suspect that any changes were quite slow. Somewhere, I have seen a picture of Ben Alder's cab, but I am afriad I can not recall where. Mark
