EddieB
Having first heard about "the comet of the century" while taking the kids to a Planetarium Show at Greenwich early in the year, I'd been looking forward to its appearance about now. Visible to the naked eye, perhaps even in daytime; they'd said. Sadly it wasn't to be and Ison disintegrated before it had the chance to form a specular tail. SRman
It was a damp squid! (Anyone who has watched the IT Crowd will know what I'm talking about!!)
PatB
I'm still smarting from the disappointment of Halley's comet 27 years ago.
Robert
Spaceweather are suggesting cancelling the Eulogy for now, because it appears that something has emerged. It probably won't be the comet of the century though, which is a bit of a shame. I didn't get to see Ison because we had wall-to-wall grey up until the morning when it dipped below the horizon
RMweb Premium mezzoman253 Posted November 30, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 30, 2013 Hi, Further update from Spaceweather today shows the comet to still be there and possibly visible from DEC 2nd. See http://www.spaceweather.com/ The URL updates periodically, so if you can't find anything in the page displayed, use the archive feature.
