stock_2007 Posted January 4, 2014 Share Posted January 4, 2014 I was looking for a chip for a new Genesis loco when I came across a list of TCS decoders there were two that would work but one was marked as 'Keep Alive' and was priced around £10 more. I've never used this type of chip so what is 'Keep Alive'? Both were 6 function chips Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
shibushe Posted January 4, 2014 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Stay alive is and additional capacitor in or with the decoder that holds enough power to keep a loco running over dead frogs, dirty track etc. Usefull for short wheelbase Locos.
