muddys-blues
Hi, I have been searching on the web for a measurement of the minimum clearance of a vari girder type road bridge that passes over a railway line that does not have overhead electric wires, but I cannot find any determined figure, does anybody know the minimum clearance please ? Best regards Craig.
Kev_Lewis
This very handy diagram has appeared on several threads on here. I don't know where it originally came from. Hope this helps.
muddys-blues
Excellent Kev, many thanks, I did put a search on the RMWeb, but it kept sending me to the google pages instead ?? Don't know why ? Best regards Craig.
ForestPines
It's worth noting that in pre-grouping days different railways had different clearance heights - for example ex-GCR locos had to have their chimneys reduced to work on some other parts of the LNER. But in general the diagram above should be good enough - it looks to be nice and generous which is probably what you want in a model situation. Thanks for posting.
