Beatty 139
Once more I am hoping the experts on RMweb can help, I am working on the GCR Diagram 50 fish vans but although I am largely happy with the body and underframe details thanks to a drawing I have found from the Railway Engineer. I have not been so luck in digging up information on the 5' 6" wheel base Fox pressed steel bogies. Can anyone suggest where I can find some drawings with suitable detail for working in G1 (10mm scale). The bogies are flat topped not as drawn by F.J.Roche in his drawing (nothing unusual there!) An added bonus would be details of the brake gear but I guess that would be pushing my luck! Thanks Andy
scratcher
Andy did you ever find information on the 5' 6" wheel base Fox pressed steel bogies? I am in an identical position to you.
RMweb Premium uax6 Posted March 14, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 14, 2017 Are they similar to the fox bogies used on the Midland railway 30 ton coal wagons? If they are, then there are good pictures in Essery's Midland Wagons books. Andy G
scratcher
Might be possible to purchase the bogies etchings and associated white metal springs and oil boxes from Brassmasters. http://www.brassmasters.co.uk/gcr_bogie_fish_van.htm
jim.snowdon
Given that the first batch were built by Birmingham Carriage & Wagon, it may be worth looking to see what Birmingham Library have in the Metro-Cammell collection. Jim
