Signal Box for Aldersgate

Recommended Posts

I couldn't resist starting something else as a diversion from "Harwich House".  This is an Elro kit which I am using because I think it's good and I am too lazy to do my own drawings of a signal box.  I have printed various copies of it to build up depth as shown and the first print was onto an A4 lable fixed to perspex to enable the windows to be cut out.  For those who have not come across this kit I am showing my work in progress to illustrate what can be done with it.

Does anyone know what colour this would have been painted in 1956?

Andrew

From the search I did the name of Robert Hendry came up along with a Manx railway connection. The UK modelshops webring produced an address and links to lists of card kits.

With regard to the query over the signalbox colour I would suggest you visit the stationcolours website. Lots of info there. Basically most LNER boxes in the ex-GER area remained in the LNER green and cream colours it would seem. The sky blue and cream is the later NE area colours.
