Cumnock Flyer
would someone be kind enough to identify these coaches behind this 2P in the links. http://railonline.zenfolio.com/p1007954498/h4440b100#h5a207abe or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Masbury_Summit_2121861_732ab59f.jpg thank you Peter
bécasse
The carriages in the second photo - of the 2P at Masbury summit - are: Maunsell 3 car "3P" low-window restriction 4 set number 392, formed July 1926, intermediate buffers removed during 1928, withdrawn October 1959 (so the photo shows the set in the last couple of months of its 30+ year life, these sets were the very first "standard" Maunsell vehicles and this set had been on the S&DJR for most of the 1950s) comprising 4-compartment BSKs 3218/9 to diagram 2101 and CK 5141 to diagram 2103. plus a Maunsell high-window restriction 4 loose SK (originally third of course) to diagram 2001, built in the early 1930s and probably withdrawn in the early 1960s.
