This week off work has been quite productive so far, turntable installed on mpd layout and more components ordered for the Arduino traverser.

In the evenings I've been sitting with a dinner tray on my lap with some 2mm wagons and some pastels.

This is the result.......

The camera can be really cruel.

Fluff and a nice fingerprint that I hadn't noticed without the 35mm lens.

Still, at normal viewing distance it captures the "grot" I am after.

Cruel close up

Pastels are really good for laying pigment on. In my experience you have to be careful not to make it too thick.....

Have you tried Women's eye make up? Actually some nice earthy colours and some of the applicators are brilliant at putting weathering powders on just about everything.

I use those blue plastic/rubber gloves to handle models (of our sort...)

Best, Pete.
