RMweb Premium DavidLong Posted March 1, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 1, 2014 Hi just asking do the society do cast axle boxes for the 16 ton mineral wagon kit I only ask as the etched ones look rather fiddely John Hi John, The items that you will need from the Association (not Society ) are as follows: 2-473 Split wagon axlebox 2-462 3'6" 5 leaf springs In order to use these you will have to cut off the etched springs and axlebox bases from the solebar etch, otherwise the castings will protrude too far from the vehicle. This means that you will lose the help for solebar location provided by the etched holes that locate over the bearings. You can get round this by inserting a suitable sized drill (I can't remember which one but about 1mm I think) through the hole provided for location of the brake lever guard while soldering the solebar etch to the main underframe etch. By the way you will also need a set of buffers: 2-070v1 RCH 4 rib 1'6" low top rib. Hope this helps David

2mm Andy
You'll need to order them from the 2mm Shop (Shop 2) by post. The 2mm Roadshow only sells a limited range of wagon kits (one at the moment!), booklets and memberships at public exhibitions. Andy
