Roco DCC sound

Hiya all,

 

Still very new to this, I've purchased my second sound fitted loco, another czech grumpy, now this one seems a little loud compared to the other , so much so the horn tone sounds distorted.

I've got a roco lok mouse DCC system, now can I alter the cv volume setting with my setup..is there a way of doing this, I've studied my manuals, but at a bit of a loss...any replies gratefully received.

Indeed you can alter the CV with a Dynamis:

There is a rather handy video clip as well as a written walk-through.

 

If you can supply the exact model of the loco you have then it might be possible to determine if it's a Zimo or LokSound and tell you which CV controls the volume.

If it is a factory fitted roco sound chip they are usually Zimo, in which case you need CV266 which is usually set to 100, I set mine to 35. I think the manufacturer code for Zimo is 145

Many thanks for your help, I borrowed my mates dynamis and after a bit of a fiddle to add the Locos to his controller I manged to turn the sounds down with ease, especially useful was the video link!!
