Stuartthegrant
I have noticed the class 08 is not DCC ready, Although I have converted 00 gauge N seems very tiny. Can anyone point me towards some advice before I buy one and try myself please? Stuart.
Nigelcliffe
Hardwire (ie. solder things yourself), use a quality small chip, such as CT DCX76z. Chip ends up in the cab area. You need four wires, two to the pickups (one comes up through the bolt into the top of the chassis), and two to the front of the motor. Make sure all direct connections from pickups to motor are broken before installing the decoder (use a meter to check). As hardwires go, this is fairly simple. TomJ
I took the easy option. Digitrains did it for me! Very impressed with their service
