Fat Controller
Just a quicky.... as the bishop said etc, When were British Rail road vehicles yellow? regards Tony I think it would have been about 1964/5;the maroon and cream livery on delivery vehicles disappeared quite quickly, but the olive livery for 'Departmental' vehicles lingered on into the early 1970s. tamperman36
The BR corporate image started in the 60's with the XP64 train so I would have thought some time in the late 60's upto the time of sectorisation when different sectors adopted there own identities, the engineers department kept the yellow until privatisation and you can still find yellow plant equipment now

Merfyn Jones
B R adopted yellow for goods and parcels in early 1963, along with green for engineers vehicles. Yellow was adopted by the engineers in 1970. Merf.
