Drewry Car

Recommended Posts

Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July 2014

Middleton Railway, The Station, Moor Road, Hunslet, LEEDS, West Yorkshire, LS10 2JQ

Organised by, and all proceeds to, the Middleton Railway Trust

Open 10:00 to 17:00 each day (steam trains operating  regularly between 11:00 and 16:00), light refreshments available in the shop/café.

Admire the models set amongst the real thing in our Engine House and you can travel on a full size steam train. There is also the opportunity to drive a full size steam locomotive, now in their third century of operation at Middleton, as we will be operating ‘Driver for a fiver’ on one of our locomotives – when did you last do that at a Model Railway Exhibition?

With the exception of ‘Driver for a fiver’ all areas of the exhibition and the train ride are accessible to visitors with disabilities.

Admission:

Exhibition/Engine House/Platform only

Adult: £4.00

Child: £2.00

Family: £10.00

Exhibition/Engine House plus unlimited train rides:

Adult: £7.00

Child: £3.00

Family: £18.00

We are expecting up to11 layouts in a variety of scales: O, OO, N & 009 at least. Layouts will include: Sheaf Valley Railway (N, fictional preserved), Hebden Bridge (4mm), Aire Main Yard (a Leeds area colliery in 1947), Pucklechurch (O, 1950s BR), Whelganby (4mm, based on the Derwent Valley Railway) and to celebrate both the anniversary of World War One and the fact that ‘Le Tour’ in Leeds this weekend we have ‘1918 – somewhere in France’ (009).

Reminding us that model railways are fun too we have vintage Tri-ang OO, Lego Duplo and Tomy Thomas – all upstairs in our ‘play room’!

Traders will include Keith’s Model Railways, Leeds Transport Historical Society and second hand tables.

This is an event for all the family – not just the modeller. When the non-modellers have exhausted the facilities we offer at Moor Road we have Middleton Woods and Park at the top of the line, the Tulip Retail Park is opposite and the White Rose Shopping Centre is just a short distance away. We pride ourselves on a welcome for all – come and experience it for yourselves. Whilst we expect the area to be busy for ‘Le Tour’ there should not be any access issues in our part of South Leeds.
