Paul,

Will catch up with you, there, then. I'm helping Brad to run his OO gauge model of  Whitby West Cliff as set in the early 1950s. It has grown by a further two boards since it's first outing at Redcar, last year. At this rate he will be modelling Saltburn to Scarborough, in it's entirety!! 2750 - Tom F - has been roped in to help over the two days, as well. So that's three RM Web members, there, for starters. Lets hope a few more will come along.

David.

I'll be there helping out on Whitby West Cliff, or from the rumours I've heard about it's extension.....it should now be referred to as 'The North Yorkshire Coast'! :mosking:

I visited early on Saturday morning. I thought there was a good mixture of layouts from large exhibition sized multi staffed to one man operated shelf size, most with local or regional interest too. There seemed to be a room devoted to dolls house, I didn't understand why it was at a model railway show.

A very enjoyable weekend operating Whitby West Cliff. Brad has done a terrific job on recreating this lost railway system. The layout currently covers the area of Whitby West Cliff Station, northwards to Upgang Viaduct, the first of those impressive tubular viaducts. Next year he will be adding Prospect Hill Junction at the Southern end, with the final aim to add the other tubular viaducts up to Sandsend.

As for the show, I thought it was very good, and certainly a lot of care and attention has gone into choosing some very good layouts.

Here is my collection of photos of Whitby West Cliff, taken mainly today.

This final one is a little special for me. The B1 (61071) and teak Gresley, I sold to Brad a couple of months ago as surplus Leaman Road stock. Pleased they have gone to a good home.

Three of us travelled from York and spent several hours at the show today (Sunday) and we all said how much we'd enjoyed it.

A good mix of layouts and traders in a friendly atmosphere. It's a pity some layouts did not bring their own lighting rigs as the main hall is starved of natural light and the superb modelling on show would have looked even better with extra lighting.

I also travelled from York and thoroughly enjoyed the show. There were some very good layouts and a good range of layout types.

Trade support was excellent, books, videos, lots of R-T-R, local photos etc. I did notice as discussed on many forums how prices have gone up. Hornby 9Fs are now £80 they were to be had for £50 -£55 a year ago. Going Loco had a Bachmann Limited edition Hobbie Elliott in early British Railways apple green. The refreshments were good value and nice cakes ladies.

I have been to the show a few times before this visit was good the venue had had a make over and the overflow car parking was much appreciated and made the visit easy.

Well done everyone!
