Along with the 1960s stuff, I have a taste for the very early 90s scene - still Sou'West metals of course. Hence 37694, seen on the old forum, and in my gallery here: 37694 on RMWeb. Other bits and pieces might take my fancy as time passes.

I'm therefore quite taken by the latest batch of photos on agcthoms' flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/killie65/

A photos stirring early memories including 60009 as Osprey at Kilmarnock where I must have been practically beside the photographer, and on another occasion being hauled North by 37694 after a staff open day at Ayr. As a 6 year old, I'd managed to make the footplate at some point whilst it was down at Ayr on that occasion. I can also remember that it was lashing down with rain at the time.

Magic. Not sure if it makes me feel old or young!

I'll get back to matters Galloway early next week, with some considered thoughts on prototypical operation, and what may be the other side of the roadbridge scenic break... (that'll be on the thread, not the blog)
