Rob F
The title says it all really. I have remotored a few Lima diesels over the years with ModelTorque motor kits but recently 2 have failed because the gear has become a loose fit on the motor spindle. I have tried using super glue to fix it in place but this only lasted about 10 minutes before failing again. Does anyone have any recomendations how to better fix the gear to the drive shaft? Simon G
Rob, I havent used the Modeltorque motors myself, but have used Susumotors out of CD drives and they are apparently very similar to the Modeltorque ones. In order to secure a Lima cog onto the Susumotor, I use a plastic wire shroud, sized to be a tight fit onto the motor shaft, then slide the cog over the plastic. None have failed yet! DCB
I use scalextric motor pinions on CD motors in Lima power bogies, they may well fit the modeltorque spindles.
