3 link
Hi Chaps, I am thinking of putting a camping coach in a disused siding as part of a diorama on my proposed layout, can anyone tell me if there was a preferred type of coach used or just any old coaching stock would do, I am modelling the mid 50's. buffalo
Some useful information here on RMweb, plus a quick google search for images will give a good idea of the range (plus much that's irrelevant). Perhaps a little unusual is this ex-TPO. The Wikipedia page has a list of locations in 1957. Nick

hmrspaul
Two books about these are McRae, Andrew (1997) British Railways camping coach holidays, The 1930’s & British Railways (London Midland Region). Foxline Publishing, Stockport. 96 Pages. ISBN 1 870119 48 7. McRae, Andrew (1998) British Railways camping coach holidays, A tour of Britain in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Foxline Publishing, Stockport. 128 Pages. ISBN 1 870119 53-3. Ignore the LMR in the title, both have all companies in them it is the dates that are a bit more relevant to the way the subject is discussed.
