BobKing
Hi, I have an old R306 Breakdown crane from the "Thomas" range, dating from 1989, in the airbrushed "weathered look" colour, and I am looking to re-wheel it. When it came out, I was advised that it was more authentic than the other crane available. I don't know what size the original wheels are, but I would like to know which wheels are suitable, either coach wheels, or wagon wheels. The originals seem to be 3-hole coach? wheels, plastic and quite wide . I have also bought a couple of old Triang coaches, a Caledonian Railways one, and an LNER clerestory brake third. Can anyone please give some advice on the most suitable wheels to use? Thanks very much in advance, Bob King.
