50030
Hi all, I thought I'd share with you the little diorama I'm building using leftover, damaged and spare bits of buildings, track and board that I have lying around, it's a 2ft x 7in board which I'll just use as a programming track and photographic scene. The plan is to have a private siding leading into a distribution building, it is OO with code 100 track.
50030
An afternoon without any distraction and I've managed to make it look a bit more presentable, backscene painted and added, I've made a start on an overbridge at the departure end, and I've made a hard standing area from filler and painted it concrete colour. Ian Abel
I like this Only last night I'd decided I need a fairly small/simple photo scene board forl ocos and stock - BR/SR steam era - and had been pondering how small (relatively) a board I could use/get away with. This looks great and hopefully if I get time this weekend, spur me on to start creating something. Going to try for two tracks also, but more a mainline area so I can get the loco and a coach or two or the 2-BIL in a between-stations type scenario. Not sure whether to do a foliage backscene or city-type retaining wall version... I'll be watching with interest.
50030
Thanks Ian , I'm really enjoying building this diorama, when I'm building my loft layout I can't concentrate on one bit and end up with half done sections all over the place, but this is small enough to keep me interested and it might actually get finished. 50030
A bit more progress, I ballasted the front siding yesterday and added a bit of greenery to give it a rarely used siding look, I've rusted the rails up and made a start on the fence. Ian Abel
Looks really good. I understand the scale - of - things issue, I've a fairly sizeable layout in progress and it's hard to know where to work next sometimes. Then I just end up running trains. Fun but no progress, partly why I want to do a photo-shelf. Of course, I forgot real - life family obligations today and that has prevented a start on it this weekend <sigh> - will have to make do with watching your progress... mason
Looks pretty cool mate, reminds me of the canons yard photo board I built a while back . It's always great to get a few scrap bits out and create something cool.

Cheers Neil, for a first attempt I'm pleased with how it's coming on, and yes it's just scrap/unused bits I have lying in a box. I've found a little coal office and coal yard bits along with a smaller board so I'll have a go at that next :-)
50030
Another couple of hours and a bit more done, fencing finished, a crash barrier added to stop the as yet not found fork lift I know I've got somewhere crashing into the building, and a fence outside the emergency exits to stop people wandering into the path of the trains. A few bits of yard clutter added but not glued down.
