James Brodie Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Dear Sirs, The TE based type 2 Birminghams had a white spot centrally placed between but above the cab side numbers .......ie...... Dxx*xx. None of the other type 2 varieties had this feature. A Thornaby driver made a comment that it identified these engines were on 'bonus' working but none of the other type 2s which also worked bonus turns where so identified. A passed cleaner said when they were cleaning the BRCWs the white dot came off so they re-glued them back on. I have seen a small photo shewing the white dot which I think was in an Observers booklet. Any comments please. JB..67281*/67338*...............G5s forever.
