deltic79
I can't recall exactly when the train that you refer to entered service but it was around 1992 I think and was operated by BRML Doncaster. It was used to test locos that had been to the works for overhaul and was, again from memory, usually worked north up the ECML, often to Tyne Yard, before returning south to Doncaster works. The coaches were all ex-air cons except a Mk.2c. Details as below: CDE Number ? ? ? Prev. No. ? Mark Type QXA ADB977788 17157 ? ? ? Mk2d BFK QXA ADB977789 5765 ? ? ? ? Mk2e TSO QXA ADB977790 5830 ? ? ? ? Mk2e TSO QXA ADB977791 5855 ? ? ? ? Mk2e TSO QXA ADB977792 5856 ? ? ? ? Mk2e TSO QXA ADB977793 5596 ? ? ? ? Mk2c TSO QXA ADB977794 17139 ? ? ? Mk2d BFK By the mid to late 90s it was rebranded as the ABB Test Train (the BRML logo simply being overpainted). A set of photos are on the Departmentals website Rob
