matt999
Hi Does any one know where I can buy Micro Engineering Track Code 70 and Code 55 in the UK? Obviously turnouts can be shipped from the USA but what about small amounts of flex track? Its not economical to get the flex track from the USA and they may be difficult to ship, so any suggestions ??? even in Europe? Thanks Matt
HSB
You could try EDM. They certainly stock the narrow gauge track, not sure about standard gauge. http://www.ngtrains.com/
Andy Reichert
Sadly Micro Engineering have stopped producing code 55 HO track. Apparently their moulds wore out and were not economic to replace. There are rumours that Central Valley will be producing track bases specifically for code 55, maybe as soon as late this year. You can currently use their standard bases for 55, but you need to also use a track gauge to avoid gauging errors during laying. Central Valley track base can be shipped to the UK for somewhat less than full yard lengths of track, and buy the rail locally. But it is still relatively heavy (about half the weight of track with rail.) Andy
trisonic
Central Valley are a very good company to deal with. They respond to issues, queries and suggestions in a timely manner. If you need to check actual rail dimension this is a useful table for comparison between US produced rail and UK: http://www.handlaidtrack.com/kb_results.asp?ID=122 Anlother useful company for HO components is “Cloverhouse" and, of course, Andy Reichert’s “P87 Stores” - not just for P87......... Best, Pete.

Best, Pete. Just a point. Where it says Micro Engineering's rail on Fast Track's table, you can substitute Proto:87 Stores rail, as it is always exactly the same dimensions.
