RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted September 26, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 26, 2016 I'll try and do some modelling tonight just to distract from the spiders!! But for all those spider haters out there there's one less, I got a huge plate sized one the other night. No I'm not getting brave I just had no choice as it was above the bathroom door and it looked ready to pounce so after the shakes kicked in I jumped on the loo seat with lots of tissue an squashed him, it had hairy legs Cheers
Derekstuart
Poor spider probably just wanted to be friends with you. It might have been sharing your house for ages and considered you a good housemate. Spider murderer.
Derekstuart
Deleted. It was more pictures of spiders. But it wasn't funny and I must remember there are a group of big girl's blouses on this thread so I deleted them. Derekstuart
GWR steam loco or a spider?Give me 8 legs rather than the 8 wheels above any day. Paul, when you say type 4- can I be clear that you are referring to THE type 4, made by Brush, or the, ahem, 8 axle thing with 2 noses made by English Electric? leopardml2341
But Derek, surely you've forgotten the 4 axle ones built by BR and NBL? Tee, Hee!
Derekstuart
I can just about tolerate the idea that English Electric made an attempt to rival Brush. Let us not imagine that there were more pretenders to the Type 4 crown. Of course, there was also one Brush Type 2 that was an Honorary Type 4 on account of it having a substantially uprated set of mechanical and electrical equipment- we will ignore the fact that it had an English Electric diesel motor for the moment I think. But Derek, surely you've forgotten the 4 axle ones built by BR and NBL?Tee, Hee!
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted September 27, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 27, 2016 Hi Paul and Andy wolf_spider_cyprus_alex.jpg I don't like them much but have to be brave as SWMBO gets seriously panicked if one comes into the flat. That one looks scary but does have quite a cute face.

Derek any type 4 will do but I'll take the EE version any day Cheers
RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted October 6, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 6, 2016 Have all those spiders gone?? Well the mojo has returned with avengance but lack of time has been frustrating, I have been working on the shelter for Dyffryn in the odd 30 minutes I've been grabbing but I might try and return to work on the bridge tonight whilst I await a few bits. Once the road is attached to the bridge structure I can blend it all together and add the coping to the top to along with adding the street light. Hopefully a proper update soon. Cheers
RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted October 6, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 6, 2016 A small bit of work on the bridge tonight, I've fixed the road surface to the front and sides, I was hoping to do a bit more later but only just sitting down now and need my tea so I'm afraid these pics will have to do. Some obligatory bus on bridge shots. And a couple of tinkered with shots which some of you might of seen already in the how realistic thread. Derekstuart
Paul, I know this is for another thread you are working on but as discussed here's a link to comments from Martin Wynne. He has written many comments about keying practices, but this one is a quick summary. http://85a.co.uk/forum/view_post.php?post_id=17758 What Martin has also pointed out before is that p way crews would often do something other than the general rule to suit a specific situation- for example I have a photo of Whitby that contradicts much of what he wrote, but one can only assume that there is a very good reason why this specific photo shows the opposite because all others in the area support it. Hornby and Peco set track anyone? preferably to 4ft 1 1/2 inches.

RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted October 27, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 27, 2016 No updates for ELJ I'm afraid mostly due to working on this for my Dyffryn thread. Nothing like hijacking ones own thread but don't want you all thinking I'm being lazy and not doing much Cheers

RMweb Gold PjKing1 Posted November 23, 2016 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 23, 2016 Morning all as some of you may know I've been loosing my mojo for ELJ of late because I've been contemplating other things and last week I took the plung and turned to the dark side off 7mm and ordered an 08 It's huge and very impressive and it also made me smile which is something 4mm hasn't made me do for a while, mostly because I've hated rewheeling and even the thought of it and also my ambitions will never be met as I plan to big in 4mm. Up unti the other month or two I've loved every minute of it though and I've learnt so much but I'm moving up. As for my locos etc I think I'll be selling all but one or two on to fund the move, I just want to thank every one who has been following my thread and helped me from start to finish and please follow me on my new adventure here. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/117138-the-big-leap-starts-with-a-gronk/&do=findComment&comment=2508563 Many thanks again to you all.
