avonside1563
Just thought I would keep you all informed of the forthcoming gala at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway. For those who haven't visited yet this is a grand little line with very friendly volunteers and with the main line being on a constant gradient with some quite steep sections it gives plenty of opportunity to work the locos hard. There is the added attraction of the branch into Big Pit which is the Welsh mining museum with free entry. If you fancy making a visit then the gala should be a good opportunity with up to 5 engines operating, and a bit of an Andrew Barclay Fest to boot, featuring the newly overhauled Rosyth No.1 which looks lovely now it's fully lined out. Here's more info about the weekend.
