Poe
Hello, I am aware that fitting dcc sound chips to n gauge is very difficult, would it be possible to fit the chip to the track power and fit an enclosed speaker to it? instead of inside the train? Basically fit chip and speaker externally.
RMweb Gold BoD Posted September 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2014 Yes, it is possible but I'm not sure it would sound right. Without getting into the 'it will never be like the real sound anyway' debate, it would be odd to have your loco moving about at one end of the layout and the sound coming from somewhere else. Adrian Wintle
Look at something like the SurroundTraxx system http://www.soundtraxx.com/surround/ Roundhouse uses it on Santa Barbara: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/46095-santa-barbara-in-n-scale/ Adrian
10000
Yes you can. Its even something Soundtraxx suggest as a possibility. But if you can get the sounds you need then as well as the Soundtraxx surround system there is the Pricom players. http://www.pricom.com/index.shtml (No association and not even a user yet but considering it)
