Fettster42
Hi, I am looking for back to back gauge, but they all seem to be 'solid' so no way to put an axle with the gear fitted in them. Seems flawed to me and I hope there is someone who does one that allows for this. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks Leigh
buffalo
I've seen them with cutouts for gears, but can't remember where. A much more flexible solution would be to get yourself some digital calipers. Nick
stewartingram
Personally, I never use a gauge. I've always used a set of calipers. Often found in the bargain bins at Maplin, Lidl etc for £5-10. Stewart
RMweb Gold teaky Posted September 22, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 22, 2014 G W Models (01903 767231) do an adjustable back-to-back gauge with a slot in it. I can't say for certain if this will solve your problem since it will depend on the size of the slot versus the size of the gears but I'm sure they will be able to tell you. Or perhaps someone on here has one?
Grovenor
The normal 'L' shape gauge can be used perfectly well with geared axles, you only need to gauge between the flanges. Keith
