Ray M
Hi to all. I Don`t know how many of you have seen this footage, but i think it is well worth your time. It as got all the colours, all the structures, all the scenery, And it makes the real thing just look like a model railway, at times. It does run a little fast in places though, unless sheep can actually run at 50mph? ENJOY.

jonny777
Wouldn't the CAA describe the passing of aircraft at 0:17 as a "near miss" these days, and commence a full inquiry?
synthnut
Wouldn't the CAA describe the passing of aircraft at 0:17 as a "near miss" these days, and commence a full inquiry? There are a few "seat of the pants" moments in that video! At 19:17 it feels like it's about to smash into the unloading house at the powerstation and at 20:26 it almost collides with the RLB conveyors of Selby. There's some pretty hairy low level flying in places, the camera is almost level with the trains and at 23:42 runs parallel against an oil train. Also rather alarmingly it darts in front of the 37 on the West Highland Line segment at 55:30! I know the lens length exaggerates the actual closeness, but I wonder how much of this would be permitted these days? I'm assuming the pilot was more used to filming James Bond than locos but all the flying around masts, pylons flood towers and so on made me decidedly nervous! Great views though from a perspective that is really helpful to the modeller and shows the tail end of some heavy industries too. TTFN, Ben
