TEAMYAKIMA
Am building a steelworks branch .... Chinese but and USA or UK advice is very welcome. Would a steelworks produce both wire and sheet .... I'm thinking of open gondola loads OUT Would a steelworks take scrap - big chunks of metal - as well as bales ... scrap compressed in cubes. I am thinking of CHOOCH INDUSTRIES gondola loads but don't want to mix and match if the prototype didn't
allan downes
The steelworks in Scunthorpe produce both sheet steel and wire, amongst other things like pollution for example ! Cheers. Allan
Fat Controller
Whilst not a steelworks, but a foundry, British Steel Landore used to have baled scrap, large pieces, and smaller pieces delivered by rail. The size of scrap delivered depends more on the sort of furnace used; the more modern electric-arc furnaces seem to rely on shredded scrap in quite small pieces, from what I've seen at the CELSA plant in Cardiff when passing.
