Torr Giffard LSWR 1951-71
Aft'noon all, This morning has included a 2hr triangular walk along the former Cromford & High Peak Railway (C&HPR) and Buxton - Ashbourne route (Parsley Hay - Hartington). Parking at the former Hartington station, walking back down the approach road and turning right to walk up the hill towards Newhaven brings you to a green lane on the left side after approx quarter of a mile. Walking along the green lane, crossing the A515 and heading straight on, leads to the former C&HPR route between Friden and Parsley Hay. Turning left along the old railway leads to the tunnel beneath the A515 and on to the former junction with the Ashbourne line at Parsley Hay. Turning left again along the Ashbourne route/Tissington trail leads to Hartington and the completion of the triangle. Here are a few scenes along the route Dave

Londontram
Thanks Dave that was outstanding, growing up in the area in my younger days I've done these walks and many others in the area many many times. Thanks again Steve PS Set that video to something fitting like the tune for Scarborough fair for a real hair on the back of the neck moment
