Nearholmer
Pretty much the same thing, under a different name, so far as I can discover, although some fan-tables seem to be pivoted in the centre, so a turntable of very restricted arc of movement if you like, whereas a sector-table is classically pivoted close to one end. bike2steam
Nice to see this topic re-emerge. But as a 'post-script' I must add that this layout changed hands about 5 years ago, and is now in the hands of Mark Pretious of Alton, along with his newer exhibition layout of MERSTONE that is doing the 'rounds'.
Mike Storey
For interest, I attach a link to a recent e-bay postcard of the rear of the station and the Spithead hotel - a view I have never seen before. Of note are the two arched windows on the roof line, and the coverage of, presumably ivy, over almost all of the back wall. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Isle-of-Wight-postcard-Bembridge-Spithead-Hotel-Railway-Station-/401723964898?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l10137.c10&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
Nearholmer
Interesting. I’ve often wondered what that white ‘wedding cake’ thing is. A fountain? EDIT: yes, details here http://www.isle-of-wight-memorials.org.uk/others/bembridgepalmer.htm Edited March 19, 2019 by Nearholmer
