LNERGE
We have acquired a couple of slate wagons in kit form with bits missing etc. Can anyone direct me to a drawing so we can make the missing parts?
flyingsignalman
No drawings but here are a couple of photos taken in June 1996 at Llanberis.
RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted October 26, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 26, 2014 I see what you mean by 'kit form' - at a guess I would say about 12in to 1ft . . . . . . I'm sure someone will come along with the information you need A couple of photos here http://www.penmorfa.com/Slate/rolling%20stock.html I also found a Narrow Gauge Drawing Index http://www.narrow-gauge-index.co.uk/Drawings%20Indexs%20details.html?ifrm_2=Drawing%20details%20D.htm This lists a drawing in the Boyd book of North Caernarvonshire Vol 3 There is a drawing here http://www.irsociety.co.uk/Archives/49/Britannia.htm Hope that helps to get you started . . . . . LNERGE
Super thank you. The chap who is going to restore the wagon will do a superb job. There are two but i think only one will be resurrected. If there are enough parts the second one will most probably gain conventional two foot gauge wheelsets and live elsewhere. Early days yet. It's all still in the trailer and we've not counted parts yet.
AMJ
I'd be tempted to (as mentioned) make up one full good one from the available components. After that I'd look at what was mising to make up the second and manufacture the parts based upon the 'complete' one. The wagons would have had parts changed at times as and when they were either worn out or brocken. Look forward to the progress......
LNERGE
Apparently news from the front says every nut so far encountered has come undone. That's a good start.
