M Graff
Hello, I am too fast for my own good..... ;-) I had just two days ago started on the 1:87 scale kit of a gas station from Evergreen Hill Design. It is a mixed media kit with many nice castings. After being stained, all the wooden walls had nail heads made with a Trumpeter rivet tool. I then glued together the main structure: Many battens...... The roof is made of cardboard. The floor (that fits snugly within the structures inside), is glued to the base that I made from a piece of pink foam. I cut out a grease pit out of the foam and glued 2"x6" planks on to the sides. The frames that holds the canopy are scale 4x4's. The roof is strips of paper glued with PVA: After painting the building last night and adding a bit of ground cover, it looked like this: The windows and doors were painted the same color as the trim; red. I glazed them with authentic 0.16 mm slide cover glass. I found two suitable vehicles to use. Here you can also see the work bench that is made of wood. I made the doors open so the interior can be seen later when the lights are installed. The tractor and the backside of the building with the the smoke stack. The other side: How it looks with all the details in place: I'm pretty happy with it so to say! []
