6892 Oakhill Grange Posted November 4, 2014 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Ladies and Gents Anyone care to comment. Airfix B Set shell vents are somewhat larger than MJT. I have some Hayes developments from a siphon kit which appear similar to the MJT. Are the others available (247dev and Comet) of consistent size with other castings? Adrian Wintle Posted November 4, 2014 Share Posted November 4, 2014 The Slaters vents from their toplights are significantly smaller than the Comet vents - the Comet vents are similar in size to the ones on the B-set (I've used them as replacements). It is possible that there were different sizes of shell vent and that the ones on the toplights (which the MJT ones would be) were smaller, particularly since the toplight coaches typically had 2 vents per compartment while the later Collett coaches only had one.
