It looks pretty bad Phil - 145 mph winds on landfall. Probably a little to the north of the last one -I’m not sure whether that helps you, though.

I found that during Sandy and afterwards the best communication was by Cellphone texting until the tower back up batteries started failing...

Good luck, Pete.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here, riverside in Catarman, the typhoon came overnight two weeks ago, I vacated, then stayed overnight on higher ground. Returned 2 days later, roadway still ankle deep in flood water, compound had flooded, house had not. Outside many power poles down and destroyed nipa roof huts. Today, I have NorSamElCo local power utility, intermittent Internet, no cable TV, no water pump. Still a grey sky, wind and rain. I'll post a photo-set on facebook later. Below is a week ago, Oceanside, on Purok 4, plenty of shoe-less kids, 6 days after typhoon Ruby, We're handing out pandesal. (small bridge rolls, sold in every Filipino bakeshop from 5 a.m.) - yes, a different world.

Cheers, Pete. I wasn't sure about that sign. But it's typical around here. Me-thinks ostentatious. Anyway, more non-RR stuff on https://www.facebook.com/phil.clark.9085/media_set?set=a.10205482234203230.1073741867.1472259501&type=1&pnref=story

Back to trying to fabricate 55 gallon oil drums. Last nights attempt was using white wood glue to attach a printed image around a wooden dowel   . I want to make some palletised oil drums as a load peeking out of a 1960s boxcar door.
