RMweb Gold russ p Posted December 20, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 20, 2014 With the 47s there was only 4 throttle positions. The kit on the loco was quite small a cubicle on the boiler compartment wall with a few EP valves in it was the most visible. They also had a different fire system and traction interlock on the handbrake
david.hill64
I never knew there were unused mk4 bodyshells. And enough to form another couple of sets? Yes there were: cannot remember what types they were or how they came into existence or even where they were stored. Too long ago now!
Catkins
I would have thought that the unused bodyshells would have been stored in the Metro-Cammell works in Birmingham. They would have probably been scrapped when the works were taken over.
