RMweb Gold Happy Hippo Posted January 17, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 17, 2015 One of the lads in our junior section at Telford Railway Modellers Group. had an ailing Graham Farish GP tank. To say it was elderly and past it's prime would be a slight understatement. So it was no surprise to find it being handed to me and being told that it didn't go. Well it did, when power was applied to the motor it stormed away, but the plastic gear wheel on the driving axle was bald. Since the loco was extremely ancient I wasn't holding out to much hope about getting a replacement part, but having used Bachmann's service and customer support on a number of occasions in the past, decided to ring them for some advice. After a quick explanation as to what was wrong, a gear wheel was found and despatched for the loco repair: The cost? Nothing! not even a postal charge. The little lad is now very happy, as his very old and battered tank loco is now back on the tracks. Well done Bachmann.
