45669
Evening All, I have just added some pictures of the Festiniog Railway in 1959 and 1960 to Flickr. My first visit to the line was in 1959, and I started volunteering there in 1960 so the pictures show my first visit and my first working visit. If anyone would like to have a look, this is the first one in the Photostream : 1960/10 - 8. Tanygrisiau. by Ron Fisher, on Flickr Hope that they are of interest. They are in reverse order, so the 1960 ones come first.
RMweb Premium Dava Posted February 7, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 7, 2015 Interesting to see the shots of TyG and down the line. I was a teenage volunteer there in 1976-7 when the line through there was starting to be rebuilt. There was a big difference in levels and the trackbed as well as the local area was pretty rundown. The other photos are interesting too. Dava
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted February 7, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 7, 2015 This series was a bit of a shock! Less than half a mile from where I then lived! https://www.flickr.com/photos/train-pix/15827455324/in/photostream/
stewartingram
Wonderful pictures. We should of course remember the efforts of these early preservation pioneers, creating the railway we know and love today. Stewart
