hartleymartin
I thought some of you may be interested in a new line of building kits being produced in Australia. The Tudor style mill is a particularly impressive item: http://barnardbuilt.com/c/4542343/1/148th-architectural-kit.html Whilst the range is in 1:48 scale, the proprietor can supply the kits adjusted to 1:43.5 scale - it appears that most of the parts are laser-cut so it shouldn't be too difficult to make for the size adjustment. Otherwise, a 1:48 building behind the station can help a little with forced perspective.
JimF51
I've read comments on a dollhouse forum that these kits are well thought out. For more British style buildings in 1:48, there is also PETITE PROPERTIES... They plan to eventually offer their kits in a Railway Line, 1:43, 1:76 and 1:148 Jim F

Martyn. I don't think you'll get away from plasticard and clay as these kits designed to be finished by the builder adding plasticard and clay! In the right hands they can make beautiful buildings. By the way I hear Intentio.co.uk make great 7mm scale models and have a pipeline of much more to come! Andrew Young
Thanks for sharing those, not heard of any of these manufacturers before and they could be rather useful shells to be finished off with embossed plastikard and the like. Cheers, Andrew
JimF51
Yes, the kits from both Bernard and Petite Properties have to be finished by the modeller, using whatever materials one enjoys working with. The PP kits appeal to me as they are useful for older periods. Don't think there were many Chinese 'take away' shops in the late 1800's Jim F

But that's a small matter to deal with.
