About a month ago I took this photo of CSX GP40-2/GP30 slug set pulling Amtrak Train #80 (Charlotte NC to New York Pennsylvania Station). The trailing Amtrak motor (Amtrak #1) was pulling Train #79 (Penn-Charlotte) Thursday and had some issues around Wilson, NC; the slug set was in the yard at Wilson and commandeered to pull #79 on to Charlotte. The 2nd Amtrak motor (Amtrak #19) was swiped off Amtrak Train #20 (The Crescent) at Charlotte where 79 terminates. The CSX set had to get back home so it led train #80 back to Wilson where they were set off and Amtrak motor #19 off the Crescent took back over again.
