hartleymartin
I've noticed a number of kits in 1/35 scale (a military modelling scale) for German Railway prototypes. These are mostly the types associated with WW2, but most rank well into the 1960s. Some basic maths gives you a scale gauge of 41mm, although Russian Broad gauge scales out at 43.5mm. I'm wondering if Slaters should be approached to produce axles for this gauge where the 7mm scale wheels can be utilised, or of modellers who want to turn these kits into working prototypes should just use Gauge 1 standard of 45mm gauge. I wouldn't mind building a little diorama with a collection of German goods vehicles and the smaller locomotives made to work. Perhaps in light of the military context, portraying captured equipment being operated by the Allies?
