Down_Under
Hi All, I am about to start building a couple of 4mm Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 14"and 16" saddle tanks. Unfortunately the kits do not come with the "rectangle - triangular" windows of my chosen prototypes, but rather the round. "Porthole" type. Also, you'll note, the cab back also has square windows/openings. Rectangluar triangle type (and prototype) Original image from this site; http://www.blisworth.org.uk/images/Ironston-part2.htm Round type Original image from; http://www.trainweb.org/drs/Images/Lingmell.jpg Is there anybody out there who is willing, or perhaps already has designed such artwork? I will hopefully visiting one of he prototypes in a week, so I can take some actually measurements, rather than scale off the existing parts. I have a scale diagr,m that comes with the kit, although it is a little on the rough side. Can anyone help? Cheers, James
backofanenvelope
Hello James, Welcome to the group. This was primarily set up to help people learn about 3D modelling etc and to share knowledge and assist in building 3d models. I am sure there are people out there that would be happy to help but wouldn't it be better to learn how to model this for yourself and then this opens up a world of new ideas and projects. I am not sure what you are asking for? if its purely one part then I would recommend Sketchup and then model from your drawing(s) like this. There many tutorials online and many will help here if you have questions Hth Tom
