The only 1:48 stuff I've found and sometimes used is from 1:48 scale military modelling. At the moment I'm working on four 1:48 scale plastic kits for cars to go into the background. railwayrod Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 We have a number of scales running on 32mm track gauge. In Britain the most popular is 1:43.5 to represent standard gauge or 16mm to the foot to represent 2 foot narrow gauge. On the Continent the scale varies between 1:43.5 to the more accurate 1:45 (which give a very accurate scale/gauge ratio). However in the USA the dominant scale is 1:48 or 1/4inch to the foot meaning that the 32mm track gauge represents 5 feet (wider than standard gauge).
