Came across this video today

https://youtu.be/jabDP6ngiOc

Now I could be wrong but could these shots of the track an pointwork at around 4min 25 be Dyffryn?

It's certainly the same layout and the shot straight after shows what looks like on of the bridges just up the line

Here's some screen shots

I don't think you can assume it to be so, as the film is not edited sequentially. It keeps jumping back to Fairbourne and Barmouth.

However the station which appears a little before the points you highlighted , looks very much like Dyffryn. Only the lack of trees at the North /West end give me doubts.

Mind yoy the film was taken 20+ yrs before my visits, infact before I was born. I dont get the chance to say that too often these days.

Keep up the good work

Thanks Tony, its a pretty jumpy film, the only reason I thought it might be is its the exact same track layout, I was trying to see is the little stream was there with the supports made out of rail.

I've got a screen shot of a pic I found on eBay but don't like posting it on here but here's a link

It brought back a few memories.

Thanks David a couple of pics would be great, I'm going to try and get there in the new year maybe even for a weekend, I'd like to take my mum back there as she's never been back since my dad died and they used to go every year.

Cheers

This weekends work on the shelter involved the roof being made using plasticard with masking tape for the felt. This was then painted grey and weathered with powders, the hut itself has been dusted with powder then wiped with a baby wipe.

The roof is only placed on at the moment as I still need to wire the internal and external lighting up and add guttering etc along with the time tables.

Just before the screen shots is the crossing before Dyffryn Ardudwy. So there's a pretty good chance it's that station.. Pity the camera work leaves a lot to be desired on the video.

Great pics Tim I remember that crossing, I'd look about for the gates when stood at Dyffryn an soon as they shut you'd know there was a train on the way :O yep sounds obvious now but for an 6 year old me I got very excited :D

Great pics and thanks again for posting.

Rich

Er don't start that one again :O

It would look great in 7mm but I recon in 4mm it'll be at least 16' long so in 7mm is be looking at 30' x 5' in places :( nice to dream though.

Seriously I'm happy building it in EM though and can't wait to get track building again.

Thanks again.
