  1. Hopefully this should answer your questions. Obviously I redacted any address or shipping numbers
  2. This is the item and order details from lilppe Here is the fed ex invoice and how they calculate
  3. yes vat was paid, even so the tamper was significantly cheaper than I could get it for in the U.K. the importer mark up was taking the pxxxx
  4. It was for a brawa twindex and twindexx vario emu. Cost of shipping and packing 12.90 euros previous order was viessmann tamp machine same shipping 12.90 euros
  5. when my lippie items came was sent by fed ex. The vat demand came about a week after items was delivered. It seems fed ex pay it on your behalf and then claim it back from you latter. This way the item is not delayed like with Royal Mail
  6. I get the point of using contractors and get to the important work😊. But I often find contractors level of craftsmanship can be somewhat lacking. My concern with the shed prefab companies they just want to get in and out as quick as they can, so I would definitely chose very wisely. Not everyone has the ability to build large sheds or outside buildings but if some has the time and skill certainly build yourself.
  7. I wonder if this a uk problem, having just returned from the Dortmund intermodellbau most layouts you could go right up to and ppl seemed well behaved in regards to touching layouts, of course there may have been exceptions. On a different note yes they have the rucksack brigade as well.
  8. am pleased to report Roco are in attendance. Although a good show, the size of it has certainly reduced especially for planes and boats. A number of traders present before Covid for railway items has reduced aswell.
  9. I take his comment with a pinch of salt, last year the price was going to increase but right at the last minute he cancelled the price rise. So there is a track record of saying one thing and doing another
  10. Green with envy, as I’m driving Hamburg is a bit to far
  11. Very nice indeed, I did look at the same myself but as I got roof valleys and one is multi angled due to two different roof pitches and I wanted to put roof vents half way down the roof I stuck with shingles, they are rated with over a 30 year lifespan. The same ones I took off after 24 years still had good life in them. ps does it sound like a machine gun during heavy rain 😊
  12. That’s interacting as I’m looking on the intermodellbau website, where are you looking ps Roco were further down the list. Still can’t find sommerfeldt
  13. Like you I also went in 2019 . yes I noticed that as well about hall 7, what really concerns me a number of bigger traders like Roco, marklin, sommerfeldt ect are not there, as well a some smaller traders. I’m in a dialema how many days to attend. But on a plus side I found a couple of railway shops to visit in Dortmund.
  14. do remember the 50% rule applies to the overall plot size less the main house footprint, if memory serves me correct the distance from boundary is 1 meter under permitted development. Going by your measurement you would require BC. But if it was me I wouldnt bother if you don’t require PC. personally I wouldn’t go the concrete slab route but it’s your shed. My base is basically a raft foundation with a 600 deep and 450 wide with a 300 center section, which has lots of steel reinforcement. One end is 900 deep this is due to a public sewer. This reminds me if there is a sewer near it you will require a build over agreement from the water company. But if your using the slab method I’m not sure about that if you would require it as it wouldn’t be considered permanent structure ie like a garden shed. the frame of my shed is roof grade structural wood which I obtained from the roof truss company as I have proper roof trusses in the roof, an added issue I had was because I was adding to existing a had to have a 7 meter steel beam to also support the roof as I was removing existing walls that supported the existing roof. But in your case you wouldn’t have the same issue. building yourself is much better as you can put those little things in that helps with the layout build
