paul2001
One of the things i like about being in a Model Railway Club is the characters that come through the door, one such person is Roly who's layout this is and who I'm posting these pictures for. Roly is Ex BTP from the Southern Region out of Paddington and has many a tale to tell. unfortunately most can't be repeated on a public forum. Some of the stories are about his holidays down south on Hayling Island. You know the type, eternal sun shine, ice cream and cloudy lemonade. Anyway it was always his ambition to do Hayling island as a model. The delightful N gauge Dapol Terrier was the catalyst for an exploration of the scale. As luck would have it the track plan fits in to 12' very nicely. Thanks to Francis our graphic artist club member a scaled diagram was printed out and Peco points selected to fit. Again as luck would have it Peco points fit the diagram almost exactly. Stacks and stacks of research went in to the model trying to make it as authentic as possible and i think it shows. Credit for the modelling should go to Roly and Tony Cropper who has a fantastic eye for detail. We hope you like it. the layout is now operational and Roly is hoping to take it out on the road. If any exhibition managers are interested PM me and I'll pass the details on.

daftbovine
Someone has built a scale model of the bridge in N gauge, it's very impressive.
