townend91
Heard and seen People using Foam sheets on layouts as a cheaper alternative to cork, had mine delivered today. Been looking at my plan and wondering do I keep it in a British Location or shall I go more Continental...... Well with another Swiss layout in the pipeline it could help broaden my Horizon Matt
townend91
Finalized the Plan.. The use of Setrack and Streamline For the Traction Maintenance Depot, Which will now be set in Europe (Can't stop looking at that stock now) on the Swiss Frontier, Which will host a variety of Stock from different Regions, DB, SBB, BLS, SNCF, OBB (and anything else I feel silly buying). Matthew Careful with the SNCF locos unless they are diesels. Not many SNCF electrics equipped for 15kV.
Allegheny1600
Agreed! In fact, is it just the class BB37xxx that are so fitted along with some TGV's? Which I assume, would be too long for this layout! Having said that, I'm always keen as mustard to see others work with regards to continental stock so looking forward to seeing this develop. Good on you! Cheers, John E.

All the best with BOTH projects.

townend91
After a short spell of tending to other layouts, i'm back with my own. Decided to Go West Germany with it too the Late Steam Period, Still plenty of research to be had, making sure I have the right sort of stock. Not the Stock i'm "Aiming" for... (Panic Purchase) Station Building Is yet to be made, maybe something to do this week between shifts.. Until Next time... Matthew

townend91
Abit of absence since last updated, but there has been changes.West German layout with a Cold war feel to it, but as it fictional I can do what I want... even if something does look abit out of place in the picture. So far I've built a Good Shed(needs detailing) and started building the station building, placement if this structure was a real pain so instead I've put it at the end of the platform which gives it an impression that it was a bigger station.. in time the imagination with erupt in to better thoughts. townend91
Since last update. The Station building has been built, slight modification to the line second from the back (runs alongside main roads). Purchased a Roco Multimaus System for Christmas, this will be fun to set up, with the layout haha. ~Pictures will follow in due course. townend91
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.A little readjustment to one of the sidings, meaning I can use both sides of the Goods Shed. Using both Auhagen portal's to assist in creation of a raised level. Overall look of the Station area. Matthew. Happy New Year
townend91
...............3 Months Later: Been a abit of Progress since New Year, Well The rolling stock list has grown abit more, unlike the layout. Now Spent the laste two weekends playing with Prieser Walling Kits (very Good), Decided to get a Lokschuppen (Engine Shed). Raised Area using Fromentioned Prieser Kits Another look but on the layout, including another section used with spare bits (note; Im not burying a BR23 hahaha) Lokschuppen (just fits a BR57, on that note, when one purchases a BR44 theres nowhere to hide it ) Overall Area on the Schuppen's (Time for some card shopping ) And to finish off this post, A simple purchase from York Show. townend91
Location plan, Is now set around Northern Germany, Considering that most Stock carry either Hamburg or Koln (Cologne) on their chassis and the inclusion of Retaining walls appearing, Gives it a slight Urban Feeling. My Recent Purchase has now been Attached the Layout, No exactly in the centre, but in a position that it doesnt portrude the viewing area Thought why not get the Modern stock out for a run for a change, they don't see much action. 185 just fits haha. Layout does look dark at the moment, due to relocation of Former baseboard (Which has a set of 3 ways on "wink wink") Promise another update within 2 weeks time, When I get my 94 back. Still need to sort out a fiddle yard, But Ebay is evil...
townend91
Morning all Busy Bank holiday With Halifax's Acton Parkway at Bradford (Cleckheaton) Show and a Visit to the Tramway Museum at Crich (plenty of drink) With the few hours spare last night I thought why not build a bridge. I'm pleased with the results. DR 94 Posing while Entering the area with a "Good WillTrain from the Iron Curtain" Matthew
townend91
I've decided to go with the dark art of Electrification, ~Only the Station area - Not as complicated, although speaking of "complicated" I've chosen to go with using Sommerfeldt OHLE. Placement on the Pylons isn't a problem, Its the rest of it BR185 helping with Gauging - although I've got slightly taller Pylons on order for the Junctions the two shown will be placed at the ends on sections for the tensioners.
